“ Blackburnian Day” was painted in the Spring.  While painting this I saw a Blackburnian Warbler in our woods. This warbler is one of many migratory birds that migrate north each spring.  The vertical orange shape in this abstract landscape is a nod to the stunningly beautiful orange throat of the Blackburnian Warbler, one of my favorite birds!
