Sean Wang received his formal art training when he was 14 years old. At age 17, he had his first solo show at Xian and Gansu, China.
Upon graduation with a Bachelor of Fine Art from Northwest Normal University in China in 1983, he began work as an illustrator for Gansu Daily, the largest newspaper in Gansu Province, China. Meanwhile, he worked as an illustrator and art editor for "Literature and History", a famous children’s newspaper which attracted national attention in China, and kept its circulation high for many years.
Sean came to the United States in 1986. He has lived in Ohio for more than 30 years and currently lives in Pickerington, Ohio. Sean’s paintings focus on realism and reflect his rich life experience covering both eastern and western cultures. Sean’s artistic versatility is in his exquisite portraiture and landscapes. Sean has had art shows in both China and the United states. In 2016, Sean was featured in a segment about the art of boxing and shown on PBS. He regularly donates his work to charity art auctions in Columbus and his paintings are collected by individuals and corporations alike.
