Growing up in the hills of West Virginia, from an early age, Abby dabbled in art with patterns in nature as her inspiration. After moving to Columbus, post-college, she worked in marketing for an architecture firm specializing in healthcare. Years later, after having left the corporate world to raise her two sons, she returned to creating by designing fabric storybooks as commissioned keepsakes. From there she moved into fabric collage, exhibiting in galleries throughout Ohio.
After being sidelined in 2015 with breast cancer, Abby was drained emotionally and creatively after completing treatment. “It was February of 2016 and the gray skies of Columbus were wearing on me… I literally craved color!”
Abby returned to her studio and began painting as boldly and brightly as she could to regain her creative spirit. With a B.A. in English, she has always had a love of literature and often uses vintage book pages, and other ephemera in her collage work. Abby continues to paint and create daily and wants her artwork to encourage others and bring them joy.
